Owner of BodyWise Therapeutic Massage, LLC

I graduated from National University of Health Sciences, in Lombard, IL, on August 19, 2010, with certification in massage therapy. I am nationally certified through NCBTMB (National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork). I am a member of AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association), and am licensed in the state of Wisconsin.

I use a combination of Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release techniques in order to relax the nervous system, soften muscle tissue and increase joint mobility. I believe in the body's ability to heal itself and that massage therapy is one of the many paths to restoring health and wholeness to the body. I am a strong supporter of self-care, and my intention for every session is to create a space that allows the mind and body to return to its natural state of harmony and balance.

I graduated from Anthem College, Brookfield, WI, with an Associate Degree of Applied Sciences: Massage Therapy, in 2014. I am nationally certified through NCBTMB, am a member of the AMTA, and am licensed in the state of Wisconsin. I am also certified as a Reiki I practitioner.

I use a combination of all of the traditional methods but have a passion for site-specific work. I am driven to working at the root of a problem and finding a way to resolve it to the best of my ability and my clients needs. Often I incorporate muscle pinching and grasping, trigger point therapy, and deep friction to alleviate muscle discomfort.

I also believe in the power of alternative methods, such as Reiki. Reiki is one method of energy work, in which the client remains clothed through the entire session and the practitioner places their hand in different areas of the body to increase energy flow. However, this can also be beneficial as an additional treatment combined with traditional massage. As a Reiki practitioner I have felt the benefits from the giving and receiving end.

I am a Wisconsin Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant and have been practicing since the fall of 2000. I am also a clinical instructor at United Hospital System-KMCC for the Physical Therapist Assistant program. I have taken a number of nursing classes over the years, earning my LPN license in the spring of 2011 and I have years of healthcare experience. My background includes anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, biomechanics, functional and therapeutic exercises, postural and body mechanics and I have the knowledge to know if further attention may be warranted if pain and symptoms keep re-occurring.

I have always been told that when treating my physical therapy patients that one of my strong points is massage and the ability to find trouble areas and trigger points. I perform a lot of site-specific massage at my Physical Therapy job with my outpatients. I am experienced with the assessment and treatment of soft tissue injuries, trigger points, pain relief, strains and repetitive strain injuries. I utilize Swedish, myofascial release, deep tissue work, trigger point therapy and strain-counterstrain as well as the incorporation of site-specific stretching and patient education of the area.

I have wanted to attain my massage therapist license since the 1990s to expand my knowledge and treatment skills and finally achieving it after graduating from the Milwaukee School of Massage in November, 2013. I am nationally licensed through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage (NCTMB) and am also a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). I look forward to helping clients alleviate pain with massage treatments as well as the incorporation of patient education for optimal carry-over. I strive and focus on client education to help the management of symptoms and pain, as well as prevention of further injuries.

I graduated with an A+ average from the Wisconsin School of Massage Therapy (WSMT) in Germantown, WI., on July 30, 2014. I am certified in Wisconsin through the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards and am a member of Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP).

Although I am a recent graduate, I have worked with many clients during my 10 months in school and have been requested on multiple occasions. It brings me great satisfaction to know that I have met my clients’ needs and that they are so happy with the results that they booked with me again. I intend to provide the same level of quality through listening and addressing client concerns to assist their bodies in healing through site-specific, deep tissue, Swedish relaxation or chair massage techniques.

The decision to become a massage therapist was a bit of an epiphany for me. After a few stressful months at my former job in retail management, I started looking into different trades and schools to try and determine a new career path. In the middle of searching a local college curriculum, my wife came home from a wonderful BodyWise massage and bragged about how great she felt. She had been struggling for months with chronic neck and upper back pain. Her therapist recommended chiropractics to maximize her weekly deep tissue massage, as that she was likely out of alignment. Hearing her feel so good really impacted me. I started researching massage therapy schools and the decision became clear.

It is a dream come true to finally work by helping people to relax, manage aches and pains, and ease their stress. I am very excited to start treating new clients and look forward to working together with the BodyWise team.

I have been a licensed Esthetician for 3+ years. I am licensed in both Wisconsin and Illinois. My approach to skincare is not only helping my clients to look and feel their best, but also to create an "experience" for the client. I will customize each facial for the client's specific needs and skin type. It is so much more than a facial, it is somewhere to go to unwind, relax and let go.

I am a Certified Panchakarma Bliss Treatment body worker (Abhyanga, Shirodhara, Svedana) and Certified Ayurveda Practitioner (intern), receiving both certifications from Kanyakumari Ayurveda & Yoga Wellness Center. I am also a Level II certified Medicinal Aromatherapist and an Animal Communicator. My additional certifications include Reiki Master/Teacher, Shamanic Practitioner for Animals, and I have a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.

Ayurveda's foundational teachings are to return the body, mind and spirit to a natural state of balance. One of the main body treatments is the Ayurveda "Bliss Package."  This is a deeply grounding, soothing and nourishing experience. The Abhyanga (loving-hands) treatment involves a warm, herbalized oil being lightly massaged over your entire body. It is calming to the nervous system, rejuvenating to the body and nourishing to the muscles and body tissues.  Being part of the Panchakarma program, so it also has a detoxing and cleansing effect. It is truly a Blissful experience!

I look forward to sharing in your healing journey.
